Model - The first zero carbon, zero waste WALLED city in the world!

Photographs have been recently released by Foster + Partners for the world’s first zero carbon and zero waste WALLED city in the world. Based in the Emirates Desert, the Masdar development in Abu Dhabi is a 6 km sq, car-free “walled-city” scheme. The Masdar project will be built in two stages, the first phase constructing a large photovoltaic power plant which will later become the basis for the city. Surrounding this centerpiece will be wind, photovoltaic farms, research fields and plantations which will contribute to the overall sustainability of the city.
