Posted in Research by fedwards on April 27th, 2007

The Ecologist, hardcopy or on-line, is an excellent environmental journal based in the UK that reports current news, has discussions on blogs, provides podcasts and archives – great for environmental researchers! – on international environmental issues. It targets a radical audience "providing a forum for social and environmental activists who seek to change current developmental policies in both the developing and the developed world".

Top news stories in the last few weeks includes:

25/4 – La Poste goes electric – how the French post office has announced plans to buy electic vans to replace its diesel fleet;

18/4 – Mobile phone study covered up – how a German research organisation commissioned by TMobile didn’t have flattering information… Reminds me of the environmental movement – commonsense tells you one thing but we chose to ignore it;

10/4 – Stop shopping, or the planet gets it – Jonathan Porritt gets his point across on the seemingly never-ending topic of consumption;
and

2/4 – Sunny Spain makes solar gain – a commerical concentrated solar power plant is opened in Seville, Spain.
