Resource – 4D City Software
Posted in Models by fedwards on July 2nd, 2007
This article, See a city change in four dimensions, 27 June 2007, from New Scientist magazine describes new software called “4D City” which allows “architects, historians, town planners, environmentalists and the plain curious a new way to look at cities”. People will be able to use the program to construct how a city has changed over time as “a collection of historical city snapshots into date order. The software then constructs an animated 3D model that shows how the city has changed over the years. The result is that the images appear in time order, allowing the researchers to construct and animate a 3D graphic of the city through which users can travel backwards or forwards in time” (www.cc.gatech.edu/~phlosoft).
